Richard Gaffield-Knight
Web Producer, Design and Development

When the Internet began to flourish as an advertising, sales and information medium, Richard devoted his time learning the technologies required to put his diverse talents to use for small businesses. He has nine years experience as a computer graphics and desktop publishing specialist and four years experience in interactive web site design and development.

His New Media applications include: Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia UltraDev with Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash. His experience in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML ASP, etc., allows creation of active interfaces with rollovers, drop-down menus, shopping carts and vector-based Web animation that is low-bandwidth and browser independent. His experience in the financial services area includes responsibilities as Computer Graphics Specialist at Lehman Brothers, Creative Services Operator at CS First Boston, and Senior Website Developer at Trading Technologies, Inc., now based in Evanston, IL. Richard is CEO of CyberPage Design and Development Associates of New York, Sacramento, CA and Portland, OR.

After attending the Chicago Academy of Art in 1960, Richard worked in advertising agencies and commercial art studios in the "windy city" and then opened and operated a photography studio specializing in fashion and advertising photography. He was invited to New York as a theater director in 1967 and spent the next 22 years working as a producer and artistic director completing his MA in Theater at Binghampton University. David Uozumi,
Graphics and Website Design

David Uozumi had already established a major career in corporate identity and packaging design when he became an early exponent of digital design technology: After creating globally recognized designs for studios including Raymond Loewy International, Schecter & Luth, Sandgren & Murtha and Lister Butler in the 1970s and 80s, he became Creative Director/Business Communications for Lehman Brothers, responsible for both digital and print communications. Since 1994, David has developed graphic/interface design for some of the most successful business sites on the Web, including Heat New Media, Prudential Insurance, Oxford Health, Fannie Mae, Barron's Online, The Wall Street Journal Interactive Edition, Sears, Fleet Bank and Victoria's Secret. His graduate studies in interactive telecommunications were at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.

Bruce Gaffield,
Web Design

Bruce has spent the last ten years developing and expanding his knowledge base, skills and experience of Web creation, design, programming and development. The last seven years found him naturally assuming leadership responsibilities as a team member of various groups at Intel Corporation.

Recently, as a member of Intel's Platform Applications Engineering group, with a working knowledge of SQL, ASP, Javascript, VB Script, he was certified to publish technical documents to the public Website, http://developer.intel.com/design/. In that position, while participating in marketing and launching product upgrades, he communicated and coordinated information with employees at nummerous Intel plants at locations all over the world, including, but not limited to the Pacific Rim, USA and Europe. During that time he maintained the marketing Website, performing all Webmaster responsibilities, including traffic statistics and responded to suggestions and issues involving the corporate Website, http://www.intel.com/.

From 1991 to 1995 he worked as a Receiving and Final Inspection Clerk for Benchmark Electronics located in Beaverton, OR, where he devised and developed procedures to be used in the receiving, shipping and stock areas and trained all new personnel. Beginning in 1995 he performed the duties of a Material Specialist at the Intel Oregon Systems Manufacturing plant where his duties and responsibilities ranged from inventory control, cycle count and reconciliation of materials supporting system manufacturing to auditing, training and intranet Website creation and maintenance.

He was trained at Intel University receiving certificates covering Active Server Pages, Dreamweaver, FrontPage, Information Mapping and ISO 9002 Internal Auditor Training. Complete resumé

Chris Gaffield,
Quality Assurance

Chris a self-motivated, hard-working, reliable and creative individual, with specific focus on computer science and technology, who has proven himself in management, process implementation and staff supervision. He also wins big in fantasy football. He has a been a fan of the RAMS since the 1989 season. Although he lives in Northern California with his lovely teenage daughter, Toni, he remained a RAMS fan even after the team moved to St. Louis in 1995. He missed them so much in Spring 1997 that he designed the "St. Louis RAMS @ ramsfan.us" news and chat Website. During the season it gets between 800-1200 hits per day and about 400 during the off-season.

Recently the Software QA Manager of ProcurePoint Travel Solutions, he hired, trained and managed the SQA department staff. Since February 1995, he has implemented and managed a Defect Tracking system using M/S Access and PVCS Tracker©. He also introduced other QA processes and policies there, including Stress/Load testing. He released 4 products and maintained overall review while employed there.

From 1992 to March 1999, Chris worked in the Quality Assurance Department of Mattel Interactive Software Division. Among his many achievements as a QA Mgr. was the design, implementation and maintenance of the software giant's Unofficial Web Site, while testing the reliability and content of the company's official website for it's printing and learning software products http://www.expressit.com. Besides making the progress of the QA Department public, this site has proven to be a valuable tool for communication with outside beta testers and developers. As QA Mgr. of Mindscape, a Mattel Interactive subsidiary, he successfully managed and released over 50 of Mindscape's premier PC based products with minimal contracting costs.

Chris holds a Certificate in Computer Programming, with Honors and Distinction, from the Computer Learning Center in San Francisco.

Michael Whipple,
Video Production Specialist

Michael developed a serious interest in the Television Production Industry after serving in the U.S. Navy. Most recently he produced, directed and edited a program called "Oklahoma Tornadoes, A Mission To Rebuild." The video documented a trip of 30 youth and adult members of a Portland church, who spent one Spring break aiding a community destroyed by a series of 77 tornadoes, including the world's first F-6. The program was nominated for two national community access TV awards and won awards from the Governor of Oklahoma, FEMA, UMCOR. It aired nationally on The Discovery Channel and is now playing overseas.

Michael earned an Associates Degree in Television Production Technology from Mount Hood Community College. As a student he worked in Oregon's ABC affiliate Channel-2 and PBS. He wrote scripts for local commercials and later, while assisting with St. Vincent's Hospital internal television programming, he worked as a surgical videographer, requiring skills in surgical procedures and the ability to run multiple video projects simultaneously. Next, as a volunteer for TVCA, the community access station of Portland, he worked as studio and field cameraman, ran audio and lights, and edited. Later for TVCA, he wrote scripts, hired talent, produced entire television programs and located sponsors. As a natural for TV production, Michael produced an average of 14 television shows per year over many years in the '90s. Currently a writer and large scale field producer, he also directs and edits, continuing to raise his own production budgets.

Metroshake, his current project, documents a large scale earthquake drill involving 63 agencies, 12 counties and over 1,100 personnel. Michael's leadership helped 14 field personnel and emergency agencies put together a program that will help prepare for a huge metropolitan earthquake event, reducing damage and deaths at home and in our schools.
